I guess this is old news now, but Nikon have at last announced their long-anticipated serious mirrorless cameras, the Z7 and Z6. Canon are expected to follow suit before too long. As a long-time CSC user, it’s about time. Die-hard SLR users have been deriding CSCs for quite a while but I anticipate that this announcement will change that. It’s analogous to IBM’s announcement of the IBM PC back in the early 1980s. Until then, personal computers were widely regarded as toys, not real computers. IBM’s PC changed all that by validating the product as a real computer for business and professional use.
In the same way, Nikon’s new bodies will mean that it’s OK for real photographers to lose their mirrors… it’s about time.
